I love how the sunlight shows, making it look like a picture taken (Anime) Sai is my face character, and I think you added his calm personality in here. I like how instead of drawing him in his usual clothing, you drew something original. I am glad dA has artist`s like you here Sai even has a bit of a tan, wich makes sense because of the scenery. It looks like a sunnt place, and i think the butterfly is a great touch. I never imagined Sai drawing a butterfly, you showed his gentle, kind side. Im impressed by your work
This beautiful picture of Sai from Naruto is from the talented artist GaaraJamiE88.
Actually it's a normal Anime picture, with a cell shaded character and a soft shaded background... but the scene, the perspective, the quality and the light setting are way better, than on anime pictures (from TV) usually. Sai's appearance is here more lively, than in the Manga or the Anime.
The grass in the foreground was blurred, so the focus is on the character. The character itself got a simple cell shading, but because of the light setting from the background and the depth of the colors, it looks simply fantastic. The foliage of the tree and the clouds in the sky are pretty well painted, too. The atmosphere is wonderfull and gives the whole image a warm feeling. The only thing I would criticize is, that the flying ink and the hair don't get any shading. Well, the ink is black and with thin lines and don't get any shades in the original manga/anime, too, but the hair... the whole contour of the character (and the grass) got light reflexes, but not the hair... maybe a few light settings at the hair were not so bad at all... but it's also nice how it is now.
Altogether it's a wonderful picture, which shows Sai in a new fantastic harmonic way.
I've used this pic as my background for YEARS! Even though i despise Sai for his personalities at times i LOVE this too much to take that into consideration!
